Scholaships are based on scholastic achievement, community service and extracurricular activities. Each candidate must meet the following requirements during the calendar year of application:
Candidate must be an immediate family member of a:
Current Dow employee of HDC or one who has a virtual office but is aligned to HDC.
Dow employee who retired from HDC.
Surviving spouse or domestic partner of an HDC Dow employee or retiree.
Immediate family members are:
Children / stepchildren (including the children of Dow-recognized domestic partners)
Grandchildren
Legal wards
Brothers / sisters
Spouses / Dow-recognized domestic partners
Candidate must:
Be a high school senior or college freshman, sophomore, or junior.
Not be self-nominated (i.e. candidates shall be sponsored by an immediate family member).
Candidate must have been accepted by an accredited college/university at the time of applying and plan to be enrolled at a college/university as a full-time student in the upcoming semester.
Scholarship applications are due by: Monday, March 9, 2026
Typically scholarship applications become available in late January or early February and are due by early March. Applicants are typically notified by late April or early May if they have been awarded a scholarship.
